Paradise Memorial Park

Besides the usual Qing Ming and Chong Yang festivals, it is customary for some Chinese families to pay respect to their relatives who passed away during Chinese New Year. This year, the whole family including my two brothers in law went to pay respect to my late father on the second day of new year.

Unlike other cemeteries, Paradise Memorial Park where my late father was buried is a bright and sunny place. It is neatly kept and situated on hills overlooking a lake and river. The breezy wind and bright sunny atmosphere make people feel comfortable and at ease coming here. In fact, many people come here on new year eve or the first day of new year.

My sister asked me why do I take picture here and I said "The scenery here is beautiful!".

Restoran Kok Thai Tasek Sdn Bhd

Our annual class reunion dinner this year was held in Restoran Kok Thai Tasek Sdn Bhd. This year, we are glad to have Shew Chong who returned from US for visit and Lan Chui whom many of us have not met for more than ten over years. However, quite a number of our regular were not able to make it for the reunion dinner. Notably absent was Kok Mun, who never fail to deliver the cheerful atmosphere. Besides Kok Mun, some regular who are absent includes Lau, Kok Wai & wife, Kwai Ming (another interesting guy) & wife, Chai Heng, and others who turn up occasionally like Chee Keong & family, Meow Hoon & husband, Moi Kheng, Yee Ping, Loong Kong, Chee Heng, Heng Chiong etc. I guess Shew Chong must have felt a bit disappointed that he didn't get to meet many of our old friends. I am glad to meet Lan Chui, but alas, she didn't know who am I.

The food was not too bad, a good change from our regular place like Mun Chong, Tuck Kee and Lee Hao Fook. I particularly like the prawn and the steamed pomfret. After dinner, the gang went to Seet Ching's place for some chit-chat. No mahjong and gambling this year. May be Kok Mun and Kwai Ming were not around this year.
