A blog for me to write about what I put into my bottomless pit and what I do in my spare time.

Cafe Barbera @ Bangsar
Cafe Barbera is an Italian coffee shop. Its owner came to Malaysia and opened a branch in Bangsar around Christmas last year. Barbera is pronounced as /bɑrˈbɛrɑ/, not /bɑrˈbərɑ/. Barbera is in the Piedmont region of Italy that is famous for its red wine grape.
Cafe Barbera is located in the residential area of Bangsar amids rows of bungalows. The bungalow that houses Cafe Barbera has been converted with a Southern European look.
The ambiance was quiet and cozy. No background music, tv or live bands. The lighting was comfortable and relaxing. It is a good meeting place for soft conversation, though a bit too bright for romantic candle light dinner.
Napoli. Neopolitan expresso with hazelnut syrup, chocholate sauce and chilled milk foam. A few coffee beans floating on top as decoration.
Affogato. Barbera's coffee with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. You pour the tiny glass of thick coffee into the vanilla ice-cream to drink.
Smoked Salmon Bruschetta with slice of smoked salmon, capers, dill and rocket salad served on toasted baguette with olive oil.
Chicken Caesar with crispy romaine lettuce toss with Caesar dressing, grilled chicken breast, cheesy crouton and parmesan crisp. We should have added some smoked salmon for just extra RM3.
Beef Parpadelle. Wide size pasta cooked with pan grilled beef, garlic, chilli flakes, tomato basil and demi-glaze topped with pesto sauce.
Prawn Aglio Olio. Spaghetti cooked with prawns, olive oil, garlic, chilli flakes, basic leaves, sun-dried tomato and parsley.
Lastly, I ordered the dessert Panna Cotta, house made dessert with premium Barbera's coffee. It was wonderful.
