Restaurant Siu Siu

Last Sunday, Azam and I wanted to go to a vegetarian restaurant called Woo Lan in Brickfields. We started our journey at 2:30pm, which was quite late for lunch actually. Brickfields is known as the Little India of Kuala Lumpur. It is focal point of the Indian community in Kuala Lumpur. In addition, it is also an area known for its blind man massage.

Brickfields is conveniently located near Sentral, the city terminal of KLIA Ekspress which plies between Kuala Lumpur International Airport and its city terminal, commonly known as Kuala Lumpur City Air Terminal (KL CAT) located in Sentral.. Sentral now is a busy business district with several business high rises and two hotels, Hilton and Le Meridien.

KL monorail has a station in Brickfields located directly opposite Sentral.

Needless to say, Brickfields, being known as Little India, has lots of shops and restaurants that are run and owned by the Indian Malaysian. A lot of sign posts in Brickfields are written in Tamil or Hindi. Many streets has Indian names too.

We finally arrived at the vegetarian restaurant Restoran Woo Lan at 3pm. Upon entering the shop, although there were still some customers inside, the lady in charge told us that their lunch hour is from 12:00 noon to 3:00pm and their cooks have already left.

I suggested we go to the vegetarian restaurant Ghandi's nearby. But Azam said Ghandi's looks like a coffee shop more than a restaurant. Apparently, he has another restaurant in mind. So, we drove from Brickfields to Restaurant Siu Siu, which is located in quite a secluded part in the middle of KL that I have never been before.

Restaurant Siu Siu means Little Restaurant in Cantonese. From the sign post, this restaurant specializes in fresh water fish. It is also famous for cray pot crab rice.

There are 2 birds in kept in cage. If you do not know, this bird is known as Common Myna or scientifically known as Acridotheres tristis. Acridotheres is a genus of starlings, the "typical" mynas, which are tropical members of the family Sturnidae. Wikipedia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acridotheres.

This bird seemed to be very curious. It kept bending its head to look up at me.

Macaw is another intelligent bird. It iwas cautiously curious.

Where does the road Lorong Syed Putra Kiri leads to? It leads to 2 apartments, La Chateau. At the end of the road is a Chinese cemetery. Turn right, you will go to Kuan Cheng Girls School.

We traced our way back, and on the way, we went up via Persiaran Endah to Robson Height where Thean Hou Temple is located. Now only I know where is Thean Hou Temple, but I still do not know where is FGS Dong Zen Temple.
